The Center for Washington Cultural Traditions is excited to announce that applications for the 2020-2021 Washington State Heritage Arts Apprenticeship Program are now open.
Created to encourage people to learn a traditional trade, craft, or skill, the Heritage Arts Apprenticeship Program provides financial incentives to individuals who want to preserve cultural traditions important to Washington’s communities.
Program participants may teach or study occupational arts, traditional language practices, storytelling and other verbal arts, dance, culinary traditions, music, and much more.
For participating in the program, master artists will receive $4,000 and apprentices receive $1000. Additional funds may be added to the honorarium for materials, travel costs and more.
